چکیده

Macrodiversity system with macrodiversity selection combining (SC) receiver and two microdiversity SC receivers is considered. Received signal is affected simultaneously to Gamma long term fading and Rician short term fading resulting in system performance degradation. Macrodiversity SC receiver reduces Gamma shadowing effects and microdiversity SC receivers reduce multipath fading effects on bit error probability. Closed form expression for average level crossing rate of macrodiversity SC receiver output signal envelope is evaluated. Numerical results are presented graphically to show the influence of Gamma long term fading severity, shadowing correlation and Rician factor on average level crossing rate. Keywordsfading channel; Gamma shadowed; Rician factor; selection combining (SC).

Effect of Microdiversity and Macrodiversity on Average Bit Error Probability in Gamma - Shadowed Rician Fading Channels

© 2010 ETRI Journal, Volume 32, Number 3, June 2010 In this letter, we analyze the error performance of a mobile communication system with microdiversity and macrodiversity reception in gamma-shadowed Rician fading channels for a binary differential phase-shift keying modulation scheme. Analytical expressions for the probability density function (PDF) and moment-generating function (MGF) are de...

Second-order statistics of SC macrodiversity system operating over Gamma shadowed Nakagami-m fading channels

This paper derives the second-order statistics of SC (selection combining) macrodiversity operating over the Gamma shadowed Nakagami-m fading channels. Macrodiversity system of SC type consists of two microdiversity systems and selection (switching) is based on their output signal power values. Each microdiversity system is of MRC (maximal ratio combining) type with arbitrary number of branches...

The Second Order Performance of Macrodiversity Reception in the Presence of Weibull Fading, Gamma Fading and α-κ-μ Co-channel Interference

In this paper, the wireless system consisting of macrodiversity selection combining (SC) receiver and two microdiversity SC receivers under the influence of small scale fading and large scale fading, as well as co-channel interference is observed. Small scale fading has Weibull distribution. Correlated large scale fading is described by Gamma distribution. Co-channel interference is disturbed b...

Second Order Statistic Analysis of Selection Macro-Diversity Combining over Gama Shadowed Rayleigh Fading Channels

In this paper an approach to the second order statistics analysis of macrodiversity system operating over the Gamma shadowed Rayleigh fading channels is presented. Simultaneous influence of multipath fading and shadowing is allievated through the usage of macrodiversity system. We have considered SC (selection combining) macrodiversity system consisting of two base stations (microdiversity syst...

Effects of Rician Fading and Branch Correlation on a Local-Mean-Based Macrodiversity Cellular System

In a macrodiversity cellular system, switching radio links between base stations cannot be done instantaneously. Thus, branch selection is usually based on the measurement of the slowly varying local-mean power rather than the rapidly varying instantaneous signal power. In this paper, we offer an exact mathematical model to analyze the performance of a local-mean-based macrodiversity cellular s...
